Spring Merriment

Come one and all to celebrate the season of Spring! Dance around the Maypole at the Golden Bay community gardens. Marvel at the MORRIS DANCERS! Imagine yourself stepping back in time...when musicians and performers roamed about troubadour style playing their instruments and entertaining with pop up theatre traditionally known as a 'Mummers play'. Anyone at the festival can play a part in the play with Martine Baanvinger. Mummers plays follow a basic storyline with archetypal characters, yet are created by whoever joins in!

Hark back to a time when games meant good old fashioned fun for all ages; including sack races, tin can toss, cake on a string challenge and tug-of-war! Try your hand at crafting; printing flower patterns with Ingrid or make yourself a flower crown to enhance your spring themed outfit...you might even win the award for best dressed!

Wander into the maker space where you can see natural earth building in action as participants learn with course tutor Rita Scholten.

Savour a seasonal lunch, sweet treats and beverages from the cafe and a wild weed pesto pizza and dessert for dinner from 5-8pm.
