Repair Café

  • Golden Bay Sustainable Living Centre 24 Waitapu Road Tākaka, Tasman, 7110 New Zealand (map)

Many everyday items are so much easier to fix than we tend to think. Instead of putting it in the too-hard-basket or in the trash, bring it along to a Repair Cafe.

Our friendly volunteer handy-people will help bring your broken or malfunctioning items back to life, and offer some training on how to do these repairs yourself!

Come and enjoy the satisfaction and empowerment of DIY repairing. Choosing to repair your items instead of throwing them out helps to reduce waste, make better use of resources, and foster a growing culture of repair in Āotearoa.

Come and get FREE assistance with simple repairs such as:

  • Clothing & fabric

  • Small furniture or miscellaneous

  • Household items

  • Bicycles

  • Toys

  • Tool handles

  • Tool sharpening

  • Please Note! NO ELECTRICAL ITEMS PLEASE as we wont have volunteers who can help with this at this event.

  • Please bring parts needed for replacement on your items, e.g. buttons, zips, handles, or the part that has broken off, as we may not have a replacement on site.

  • Tea and snacks available
